What is Full Spectrum CBD? – C4 Healthlabs™

Delta Effex

Full spectrum CBD is considered the “whole plant” extract, meaning it contains the full profile of cannabinoids within the hemp plant, including CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids such as CBN and CBG. While the extract does contain THC, it only includes .3% of the compound or less, making it legal across the United States, and also a non-psychoactive amount, meaning you will not experience psychoactive effects from a full-spectrum CBD oil.

Because the extract contains all of the cannabinoids (and typically terpenes) found within the plant, it is believed to encourage the Entourage Effect, a condition where all the plant’s elements work together to increase effect. You can learn more about the Entourage Effect in our blog.

If you’d like to know what cannabinoids are found within our full spectrum oils, you can easily review our most current Certificates of Analysis, third-party reports that analyze cannabinoid content and concentrations. Every product listing contains the most recent COA within its imagery. The example below shows the inclusion of THC, CBNA, CBN, CBGA, CBG, and other cannabinoids – making it truly full spectrum – and offering the synergistic benefits of each compound within the oil.

How is Full Spectrum CBD Oil Made

Full Spectrum CBD oil is extracted through various processes. For C4 Healthlabs, our product undergoes a proprietary two-step extraction and distillation process using organic ethanol and MCT coconut oil. This 36-hour process is followed by a third distillation, resulting in a CBD oil that is relatively colorless and tasteless – but continues to contain the original cannabinoids found within the source plant.

Full spectrum processing is considered to be the least invasive method of processing CBD, as the plant’s essential elements remain intact and do not require multiple passes through extraction followed by re-insertion into the final product. You can learn more about How C4 Healthlabs Extracts its Organic CBD Oils on our blog.

Is Full Spectrum CBD Better than THC Free?

The answer to this is up to the user. While some individuals prefer the whole plant compound, others prefer an isolated dose of cannabidiol only. If you are wary of THC, or have employment that does screen for THC, it is recommended to consume THC-free CBD. THC-free CBD is extracted using a different method than full spectrum CBD, which you can learn about in our blog as well: What is THC Free CBD.
